Matt Walsh

Matt Walsh serves as a Special Operations Tactical Instructor with The Soufan Group. He retired in 2024 from the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams after 20 years of service. 

Matt Walsh serves as a Special Operations Tactical Instructor with The Soufan Group. He retired in 2024 from the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams after 20 years of service. 

During his military career, Mr. Walsh successfully completed eight deployments to the Middle East, Africa, and South America. Prior to retiring as a Navy SEAL Senior Chief, he held multiple leadership positions, including Team Leader, Platoon Chief, Troop Chief, and Lead Instructor for Special Operations Urban Combat Training. 

Throughout his time in service, Mr. Walsh obtained specialty qualifications consisting of Explosive Breaching, Technical Surveillance Operations, Range Safety Officer, Dive Supervisor, and a multitude of other skill sets in the Sea, Air and Land areas of operations. 

He was responsible for developing and coordinating two separate POTUS security details with the Secret Service to Mexico and Africa, where he served as a Counter Assault Team Operator, and mobility team leader. Mr. Walsh received several awards for combat valor and finished his 20-year Naval career as an Explosive Breaching Instructor.
