With our founding philosophy of carefully balancing the needs of civil society with the requirements for law and order, we often function at the intersection of these two.
We support multiple stakeholders by providing operational reviews and briefings; assist police authorities with policing policy and practice; and assess, monitor, and assist in improving community-oriented policing.
Reviews & Briefings
- Work with several domestic and overseas organizations on individual and location-based safety protocols and procedures and on outreach and education to community members.
Policing Policy and Practice
- Commissioned by a US police department to produce after-action reports following police-involved deaths and to provide ongoing recommendations to address community tensions. The areas we addressed included law enforcement organizational design and operations, law enforcement training, and review of police department incidents.
Community Policing Programs
- Worked with the U.S. DoJ Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) and a police department to assess, monitor, and assist the local PD, in concert with the community, in implementing sustained reforms to improve policing practices, transparency, professionalism, accountability, and public trust.
