Dr. Clarke, Formerly at Carnegie Mellon University, Joins as Director of Policy and Research
(New York, NY – January 11, 2021) The Soufan Group (TSG) is pleased to welcome Colin P. Clarke as the new Director of Policy and Research. Dr. Clarke’s work will focus on domestic and transnational terrorism, international security, and geopolitics.

Previously, Dr. Clarke was a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and a senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation, where he spent a decade researching terrorism, insurgency, and criminal networks. At RAND, Dr. Clarke led studies on ISIS financing, the future of terrorism and transnational crime, and lessons learned from all insurgencies since the end of the World War II. Dr. Clarke maintains an affiliation with The Soufan Center as a Senior Research Fellow and has published several books on terrorism, including his most recent, After the Caliphate: The Islamic State and the Future Terrorist Diaspora.
