FORMER U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT SENIOR OFFICIAL NATHAN SALES JOINS THE SOUFAN GROUP

Former Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights (acting) and former
Ambassador-at-Large and Coordinator for Counterterrorism at the U.S. Department of State joins as a senior advisor

(New York, NY – January 5, 2022) The Soufan Group (TSG) is honored to welcome Nathan Sales as a Senior Advisor. Ambassador Sales’ work will support TSG’s public and private sector clients in navigating today’s increasingly complex security landscape while maximizing opportunities and minimizing risk.

From 2017 to 2021, Ambassador Sales served at the U.S. Department of State as Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights (acting) and concurrently as Ambassador-at-Large and Coordinator for Counterterrorism. He was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate for the latter role. Ambassador Sales brings an extensive record of public service and decades of experience working at the intersection of international security policy and human rights.
