Sandy Choi
Director of Linguistic &
Cultural Programs
Sandy Choi is the Director of Linguistic and Cultural Programs of the Soufan Group LLC. Prior to joining the Soufan Group, Ms. Choi worked in a variety of public and private sector organizations with a focus on international development and cross-cultural learning. Most recently, Ms. Choi worked as a senior consultant in the public sector practice of Deloitte Consulting LLP, where she provided strategic advisory services to US federal agencies including the Transportation Security Administration, Immigration & Customs Enforcement, the United States Marshals Service, and the Architect of the Capitol. Ms. Choi was recently awarded a Director's Honorary Award by the Marshals Service for her work on risk and resource modeling, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Ms. Choi graduated from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) with a Master of International Affairs and a Certificate from SIPA's Middle East Institute. She also holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Music from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a graduate of the Center for Arabic Studies Abroad fellowship program at the American University in Cairo. She has spent extensive time living and working in France, Yemen, Egypt, Cambodia, and Bhutan.
Ms. Choi is an avid photographer and writer, appearing on international television and radio programs on the BBC, CNN, National Public Radio, and the National Geographic channel. Her photographs have been featured in numerous publications and exhibits, and the Smithsonian Institute recently acquired one of her works for its permanent collection.
