Martin Reardon, Joins The Soufan Group

The Soufan Group is pleased to announce that Martin Reardon has joined the strategic consultancy as a Vice-President. Mr. Reardon is a 21-year veteran of the FBI, and has extensive experience in the operational management and direction of complex counterterrorism and criminal investigations, both in the U.S. and internationally.
Prior to joining the Soufan Group, Mr. Reardon served as Chief of the FBI’s 24/7 Terrorist Screening Operations Center, where he oversaw the worldwide management of encounters with known and suspected terrorists. In that role he worked closely with the U.S. intelligence and law enforcement community, as well as international partners. As a program manager in the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division, he coordinated the efforts of multiple field offices in their investigations of identified terrorists operating within the U.S.
During his FBI career, Mr. Reardon was posted overseas for more than six years. In 2002 and 2003, he was detailed to Pakistan and Jordan to assist with several counterterrorism investigations. As an Assistant Legal Attaché in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 2003-2005, he led the FBI’s extraterritorial effort in a number of high profile joint counterterrorism investigations with their Saudi Arabian counterparts, including the 2003 al Qaeda attacks in Al Khobar; the 2004 al Qaeda assault on the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah; and the 2005 arrest and extradition of an al Qaeda operative who was subsequently prosecuted in the U.S. for conspiring to assassinate the President. From 2006-2009, Mr. Reardon served as the FBI’s first Legal Attaché in Doha, Qatar.

Before his career with the FBI, Mr. Reardon served as a Marine Corps field artillery officer for twelve years, with extensive service in Asia. He is a 1979 graduate of The Citadel, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and 2010 graduate of the U.S. Naval War College, where he received a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.
